Immerse yourself in tranquil beauty at KAHALU‘U GALLERY & GARDENS . Located in the heart of Kahalu‘u in Windward O‘ahu lies an enchanting gallery and gardens filled with unique art and plants. The property was artist Hiroshi Tagami’s (1928- 2014) never-ending canvas that slowly evolved into the Eden that it is today. Tagami’s love of nature is best exemplified by his cultivation of anthuriums, ti leaf plants and day lilies.
Other manifestations of Tagami’s love of nature can be found in his art. Tucked away in the garden is a gallery, which is home to many of Tagami’s original oil paintings and giclée reproductions, along with original oil paintings by Michael Powell. The artists are renowned for their still lifes, seascapes and landscape oils.
The garden also features a teahouse, pavilion and an Asian- style gazebo, which overlooks the lush botanical gardens. Several of the plants in the garden were personally selected and imported by Tagami during a South American trip.
