This science-based excursion starts off at Kula Lodge (15200 Haleakalā Way — just past the Kula Marketplace sign), where guests follow the Maui Stargazing van in their own vehicle (COVID protocols) to the summit district of Haleakalā National Park. Guests then get to view the sunset from atop Haleakalā, but that’s just the start. As darkness descends, Maui Stargazing’s expert astronomy guides help guests discover the Maui night sky by pointing out visible planets, and deep space objects through a 12- inch Dobsonian telescope (the largest portable telescope on Haleakalā).
