While everyone raves about Honolulu’s city lights, there’s no doubt that Waikīkī finds many delightful ways to alight the night.
TORCH LIGHTING : Bright lights illuminate resorts and retailers lining Waikīkī Beach. KŪHIŌ BEACH HULA MOUND ’s nightly torch lighting ceremony is exemplary. Kūhiō Beach Hula Mound has been promptly passing the torch (6:30 p.m.; 6 p.m. winter months) since 1994. Note: At press time, this event was on hold until further notice. Check with kbhulashow.wixsite.com/official for updates. HILTON HAWAIIAN VILLAGE ’s torches light the hotel’s vast locale nightly. While there may not be an actual ceremony, flames also kindle at ROYAL HAWAIIAN CENTER (6 p.m. nightly), INTERNATIONAL MARKET PLACE (7 p.m. nightly, March-August) and WAIKĪKĪ BEACH WALK (6 p.m. nightly).
Call ahead to ensure attractions are still going on.
